The first new town, rebuilding its centre
Stevenage was the first new town designated after the Second World War, built around neighbourhoods such as Bedwell, Broadwater, Chells, Shephall and Pin Green.
The Old Town High Street, older than all of them, still has its coaching-era buildings. Today the town centre is being regenerated with new apartments and public buildings, and the business areas along Gunnels Wood Road and at Pin Green are home to large offices, labs and industrial units.
That’s a lot of glass and cladding, and a lot of joints that need to be sealed properly for the building to stay weathertight.

Cladding panel joints, sealed to last
Metal cladding moves with every change in temperature. The joints between panels need a sealant that can take that movement and stay bonded, applied to clean, primed surfaces at the right depth.
- Panel, coping and flashing joints
- Curtain walling and glazing perimeters
- Colour matched to the cladding or frames

What we do in Stevenage
Cladding joints
Metal and composite panel joints sealed against wind-driven rain.
Curtain walling
Transom, mullion and perimeter joints sealed in a matching colour.
Town-centre apartments
Plot mastic inside and out for developers and main contractors.
Commercial mastic →Movement joints
Brick, block and precast joints resealed with low-modulus products.
Expansion joints →Home bathrooms
Showers and baths stripped and resealed with anti-mould silicone.
Windows & doors
Frame perimeters on new-town homes resealed and colour-matched.
Window & door mastic →Where timber-effect cladding meets brick
On new homes and low-rise apartments, cladding often meets brickwork at corners and bays. That junction moves, so it needs a flexible sealant in a colour that sits well with both materials.
We seal these joints as part of the plot package, so they’re done while the scaffold is still up.
