Cheshunt Mastic Man: Bathroom, Window & Commercial Sealant

Commuter homes and Lea Valley business

Cheshunt grew around the railway and the old nurseries of the Lea Valley, and it is still growing.

Goffs Oak, Flamstead End and Rosedale have semis and detached houses that are on their second round of bathrooms and windows. Turnford, Waltham Cross and the Brookfield area have flats and newer estates, and Cheshunt Lakeside is adding hundreds of new homes near the station.

Trade units at Delamare Road, Park Plaza and the Brookfield retail area need commercial sealant, while the river and lakes make keeping water out of buildings especially important.

Cheshunt was once the heart of the Lea Valley glasshouse industry, and some large greenhouse plots have become housing. Modern homes built close to the River Lea and its lakes face damp air, so well-sealed showers and windows matter.

Window and door mastic across Cheshunt

External mastic keeps rain and draughts out where frames meet brickwork. When it cracks or shrinks, we rake it out, fit backer rod where joints are wide and reseal with a low-modulus sealant matched to the frame or brick.

We also seal bifold and patio doors, conservatories and thresholds.

As a sealant contractor and specialist we also do expansion joint sealing with polyurethane, polysulphide sealant where fuel is present, façade and curtain wall joints, snagging on new builds, wet rooms and en-suites, and non-staining work on listed buildings near Churchgate.
